World Class MTB Trails attract over 25k views

It’s no news that Northern Ireland has long had a fascination with the great outdoors, but with significant recent investment into dedicated mountain bike trails across Northern Ireland many locals are opting to spend more of their free time exploring what’s on offer in the open-air on two wheels!

Recognising the beauty and exceptional standard of the local scenery and trail facilities in County Down, local company Chain Reaction Cycles identified Rostrevor and Donard as a prime location to film their newly released launch video for 2015 in-house brand bike the VITUS Sommet.   With the finished edit “This is YOUR Enduro” already attracting over 25,000 online views it won’t be long before many more take to their bikes to get a taste of the action, and perhaps not just the locals!

“We’re very proud to be based in Northern Ireland and we’re lucky to have such amazing scenery and trails right on our doorstep” says Simon Cordner, Brand Manager at Chain Reaction Cycles.

He continued;

“The latest video has been a huge success not only in promoting our new 2015 Sommet model but also showcasing just how amazing our local mountain bike trails are here in NI. We’re just back from the Cycle Show in the NEC, Birmingham a few weeks ago and many of those who saw the video there thought it was filmed in Canada or the USA!”

The Vitus brand was taken over by locally based global e-commerce giant Chain Reaction Cycles just over six years ago and despite originally having French roots, the brand is now very much Northern Ireland based.

“We do all of the design, research and development here in Northern Ireland for Vitus Bikes within Chain Reaction Cycles and as part of that we utilise the MountainBikeNI trails in Rostrevor, Castlewellan and Davagh as our testing ground.  It’s exciting to recognise that, through Vitus, we not only have the ability to showcase a successful local brand on a worldwide platform, but in doing so we are able to provide an excellent insight into our first-class local amenities to a global audience.

When we launched the video it quickly became apparent that many of the cycling press not only wanted to get their hands on our new Sommet model for a test ride .. they also wanted to come to Northern Ireland and ride on the trails used in the video!
