The Red Bull Foxhunt 2017 is finally here! Here are some key bits of information to help plan your weekend.
Getting there
The Foxhunt takes place at Rostrevor Mountain Bike Trails. Rostrevor is a 20 minute drive from Newry, and a 40 minute drive from Dundalk if you're coming from the other side of the border.
Parking
Signs will be in place for the Spectator Car Park. If you are attending the Red Bull Foxhunt event as a spectator there will be a designated Spectator Car Park (please follow signs)
Competitors will park in the Kilbroney Caravan Park and overflow field beside it.
Road closures
The dual carriageway from Newry to Warrenpoint is scheduled to be CLOSED on Sunday morning from 6am - 12pm. Please allow extra time to ensure you don't miss the main event.
Uplift
An uplift service will be run on both Saturday and Sunday by East Coast Adventure. Riders will then have a 15 - 20 minute push to the start of the course.
Times
Friday - Pits, parking and camping open from 4pm.
Saturday - Registration is between 8am and 4pm. Open practise for all riders is from 9am - 2:30pm. Individual timed run and seeding begins at 3pm.
Sunday - Registration is open from 8am - 10pm. Open practise is available from 9am - 12pm. The Red Bull Foxhunt 2017 will start at 1pm.
Mechanics
There will be a spairs and repairs tent at the event area with mechanics, all from Norms Bikes. They can also provide an overnight repair service on the Saturday evening.
Food
Whistledown Catering will have a selection of food (hot and not) between 12pm and 7pm on Saturday; and 12pm and 4pm on Sunday. The Kilbroney Café will also be operating between 9am and 6:30pm on Friday, 8am and 6:30pm on Saturday, and 8am and 6:30pm on Sunday.
Celebrities
Word on the street is there'll be more than just Loic, Gee and Colin staying in Rostrevor over the next few days. You'll have to get down to see who else will be there!
