Chain Reaction Cycles to Sponsor NI Mountain Bike Trails

Northern Ireland’s soon to be launched official mountain bike trail centres have announced a major sponsorship deal with Chain Reaction Cycles, the world’s largest online bike store.

This two year sponsorship deal with MountainBikeNI.com incorporates new trail centres in Castlewellan, Rostrevor and Davagh Forest and will provide a significant boost for local tourism businesses and the wider economy in Northern Ireland.

Chain Reaction Cycles is one of Northern Ireland’s biggest success stories of recent times having developed from a local bike shop in the small village of Ballynure to becoming the World’s Largest Online Bike store, all the time maintaining their local connections and family-run business ethos.

Each of the centres in Castlewellan, Rostrevor and Davagh Forest are set to be officially opened to the public within the next two months and will be managed by Down District Council, Newry & Mourne District Council and Cookstown District Council respectively.

These trail centres, which are expected to attract over forty thousand visitors in the first year alone, are already a success story for inter-government partnerships, utilising public funding in the region of £2.5 million. The projects have been driven forward by each of the local councils and each trail centre will be promoted under the consumer brand of MountainBikeNI.com.
