To celebrate this year's ‘Get Outdoors Weekend’ Outdoor Concepts will be providing FREE mountain bike hire from 10.00am to 4.00pm at Davagh Forest Trails on Saturday 21st September.
Located in the heart of the Sperrin Mountains Davagh Forest offers exciting cross-country mountain biking trails with a number of hair raising rock features thrown in for good measure.
Families and beginners can start off on Davagh’s gentle green mountain bike trail or enjoy the faster flowing blue trail which includes some more technical options for those with a bit more confidence.
The red trail at Davagh Forest starts with a long steady climb before opening up fabulous views, exhilarating decents and some extreme slab features.
Outdoor Concepts has been offering outdoor adventure activities throughout Northern Ireland and beyond for over 13 years. Managing Director, Craig Mc- Cullough, has been at the forefront of the development of activities such as rock climbing, hill walking, canoeing, wet bouldering, archery, laser clay pigeon shooting and mountain biking in Northern Ireland.
The partnership with Cookstown District Council to act as the official trailhead supplier for mountain bike hire, coaching and guiding at the Davagh Forest Trails is an exciting opportunity that Craig wants to build on - “The Davagh Mountain Biking Trails have got so much potential and these trails are only going to be the beginning. With a huge forest in which to play in we are excited to be part of this early development and alongside the Council will look to turn Davagh into one of the major mountain biking hubs in Ireland.”
There have already been a lot of visitors to the trails ranging from locals to European MTB journalists and now visitors will have the opportunity to hire high quality CUBE hardtail and full suspension mountain bikes from the trailhead.
Craig explains more about the hire fleet - “Our hire fleet is all about high quality - all our bikes are from one of Europe’s most recognised brands - CUBE. We have a selection of 29er hardtails and full suspension bikes. The feedback from everyone who has used them has been excellent.” Outdoor Concepts will also be offering coaching and guiding services alongside spares and repairs.
