Mourne Outdoor Recreation Strategy - CONSULTATION EVENTS

Calling all of those with a mutual interest in outdoor recreation in the Mourne and Slieve Croob area!

Following on from the Sperrins Outdoor Recreation Action Plan, Outdoor Recreation NI on behalf of Sport NI, are undertaking an Outdoor Recreation Plan for the Mourne and Slieve Croob AONB area.

The aim of this study is to identify the current baseline of outdoor recreation provision, identify the gaps and opportunities for development and recommend a plan for the sustainable development in the area, including mountain, forest, water and air-based activities.

Three public consultation events are being held to discuss your views on current and future outdoor recreation in the Mourne & Slieve Croob area.  Held by Outdoor Recreation NI, the body wishes to identify the facilities and areas that you currently use and discuss the activities and/or facilities that you would like to see sustainably enhanced or developed in the future, including mountain, forest and water based activities.

Tollymore National Outdoor Centre, Bryansford is the venue for the first consultation event on Monday 9th December, from 7-8.30pm.

Hillyard House, Castlewellan is the venue for the second consultation event on Tuesday 10thDecember, from 7-8.30pm.

Warrenpoint Town Hall, Warrenpoint is the venue for the third consultation event on Wednesday 11th December, from 7-8.30pm. 

Complimentary refreshments will be served at each event from 6.45pm.
